Victorian Christmas Card (1843)

The first Christmas card was commissioned by Sir Henry Cole (1808-1882) in 1843, the same publication year of 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. Due to its popularity, the card quickly exceeded the initial print run of 1000 and more were printed to meet demand.
